Director Baltasar Kormakur (who helmed Contraband), is working on Everest, an upcoming adventure drama movie starring Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes and Jake Gyllenhaal. Here’s a first picture from the film:

“Inspired by the incredible events surrounding a treacherous attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, EVEREST documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest of elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival.”I am never sure if I admire climbers or think they are nuts! It’s no activity for wimpy people: you need a combo of strength, stamina and real determination. But it’s damn dangerous… Why do they go up there for God’s sake?
Anyway, the release date of Everest is set to February 27, 2015.
